There are some days in college life that you never really forget. Your first day, your first class, your first friend on campus — and then, somewhere down the line, comes the day nobody wants to think about: the farewell. Recently, CIMAGE Group of Institutions hosted one such unforgettable day for the outgoing batches of Catalyst College and CIMAGE (Cimage Institute of Management and Advance Global Excellence). The farewell was specially organised for the final-year students of BCA, BBA, and B.Sc. IT — and what a beautiful, emotional, and fun-filled day it turned out to be.

Around 400 students gathered together — not as separate batches or departments, but as one big CIMAGE family coming under the same roof, one last time. The moment students started walking into the venue, you could feel the energy shift. The boys had shown up in sharp formal pant-shirts and smart suits, carrying themselves like they were already stepping into their first corporate interview. The girls, on the other hand, were a sight in beautiful sarees — elegant, graceful, and looking completely different from their usual college-day avatars. For many, it was their first time draping a saree, and you could spot them adjusting their pallus while laughing with friends and clicking a hundred pictures before the event even began.
A Warm Start with the Dean’s Words
The celebration kicked off with an interaction session led by Dr. Neeraj Poddar, Dean Academics. His words were warm and honest. He spoke to the students not as a teacher addressing a crowd, but more like a senior in the family giving a younger one some real-life advice. He reminded the students that the journey doesn’t end here — it’s just turning a new page. Some listened quietly, some nodded, and some quietly wiped their eyes before anyone could notice.
“The Last Class” by Director Sir
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for — what the students lovingly called “the last class of this batch”, delivered by the Director of CIMAGE Group of Institutions, Dr. Prof. Neeraj Agrawal. And it truly felt like a class — but not the kind you sit through with a notebook and pen. It was a class about life, values, discipline, hard work, and dreams.

Director Sir kept it simple and honest, just the way students love it. He spoke about how each batch leaves behind a little piece of itself in the institution, and how CIMAGE is proud of what this batch has achieved. He then called all the faculty members up on the stage. One by one, the teachers shared their wishes — some funny stories from class, some tough-love lines, and heartfelt blessings for the students’ future and careers. For a few minutes, it felt less like a formal event and more like a big family photograph coming to life.
Memories on the Big Screen
After the speeches, the lights dimmed and a specially made memories video started playing on the big screen. Those few minutes were pure magic. The screen showed moments from freshers’ parties, cultural events, classroom fun, sports days, project presentations, fest celebrations, and all those small in-between moments that students don’t even realise are being recorded. Everyone was pointing at the screen — “Arre yaar, yeh dekh!”, “That was our first semester!” Some laughed, some teared up, some did both at the same time.
Meanwhile, the management made sure the mood stayed light. Chips and cold drinks were served as refreshments, and students munched on them while reliving their college journey one frame at a time.
A Corner for the Heart: The Wall of Expression
One of the most beautiful corners of the whole event was the “Wall of Expression” — a big blank wall set up by the organisers where any student could walk up, grab a marker, and write down whatever they were feeling.

Throughout the day, you could see students standing in front of that wall, thinking for a moment and then pouring their hearts out. Some wrote short lines like “Thank you CIMAGE, forever grateful” or “Best 3 years of my life.” Some wrote long, emotional paragraphs about their favourite teachers, their college friends, their classroom battles, and their closest friendships. Some drew little hearts, smileys, and batch names. A few even scribbled inside jokes that only their group would understand — and honestly, isn’t that the whole point?
Full of handwriting, full of colours, full of names, full of memories. It wasn’t just a wall anymore — it had quietly turned into a time capsule of this batch, saying everything that spoken words sometimes just couldn’t.
The Group Photo Moment
Once the video ended, came the ritual every college batch takes seriously — the group photo. Getting 400 students to stand in one frame is no small task. There was a lot of shouting, a lot of “bhai thoda aage ho”, a lot of friends pulling each other in, and finally — click. That one photograph is going to sit on phones, in wallets, on social media profiles, and maybe even on a few walls for years to come.
Lunch and Then the Fun Begins
Soon after, lunch was served. Tables were filled, plates were loaded, and conversations flowed freely. This wasn’t a “quiet and formal lunch” kind of event — it was full of laughter, teasing, throwback stories, and endless selfies.

Once everyone had eaten well, the real fun began. The celebration shifted into game mode with some classic funny games, the biggest hit being musical chairs. Watching well-dressed suit-wearing boys and saree-clad girls running around chairs like little kids was probably the funniest sight of the day. There was cheering, friendly pushing, fake complaints, and a whole lot of laughter.
Then came the funny titles — the organisers gave creative, hilarious titles to the most active students of the batch. Titles that described each person’s personality perfectly, from the “Netaji of the class” one to the “Mr. Kanjoos.” Everyone was laughing, clapping, and nobody minded being roasted a little. After all, that’s what farewells are for.
Honouring the Stars of the Batch

In between all the fun, there was a lovely recognition moment. Director sir honoured some students who had performed really well during their session at CIMAGE — academically, culturally, or through overall participation. And the gifts were super special and personal: customised printed coffee mugs and t-shirts. These weren’t just gifts — they were little pieces of CIMAGE that the students will carry home and use every day, reminding them of their college family every time they sip their morning tea.
Ice Cream, Music, and a Few Tears
The celebration slowly moved towards its conclusion with ice cream being served — because, honestly, no Indian college event ever feels complete without ice cream. The Music took over and suddenly the whole hall turned into a dance floor. Friends pulled friends onto the floor, teachers joined in, and for a while, nobody cared about classes, attendance, internships, or placements. It was just pure joy.
But somewhere between the dancing and the laughter, the reality also started sinking in. Some students got emotional as they hugged their friends, juniors, and teachers. Promises of “we’ll stay in touch” were made, phone numbers were exchanged, and goodbye hugs got tighter.
As the day ended, the students walked out with ice cream in hand, pictures on their phones, tears in their eyes, and smiles on their faces — carrying with them a farewell that CIMAGE Group of Institutions made sure they will never forget.
Because at CIMAGE, students don’t just complete a course. They become part of a family — and family, as they say, never really says goodbye. It just says, see you soon.
