A Landmark Academic Event at CIMAGE Patna

Faculty members and academic leaders at the Faculty Development Programme at CIMAGE Patna 2026

When learning becomes an experience, education becomes powerful. That is exactly the spirit in which the Faculty Development Programme at CIMAGE Group of Institutions, Patna unfolded — turning five days into one of the most enriching academic journeys the campus has witnessed.

Held from 1st May to 5th May 2026, this special programme was organized in collaboration with ISDSI Global Research Wing and IMI Kolkata. It brought together top academic minds, future-ready teaching tools, and an inspiring spirit of innovation under one roof.

Whether you are a student dreaming of a great career, a teacher hungry for new ideas, or a parent looking for the right college for your child — this programme is a clear sign that CIMAGE is shaping the future of higher education in Bihar and beyond.

A Grand Inauguration with Top Academic Leaders

The programme began with a warm and gracious inauguration led by Director of CIMAGE Group of Institutions, Dr. Prof. Neeraj Agrawal, along with Mrs. Megha Agrawal and Dean Academic, Dr. Neeraj Poddar.

What truly made the launch special was the presence of some of the biggest names in Indian academia:

Their presence set the tone for what followed — a powerful blend of teaching excellence, research depth, and global academic exposure.

Day 1: Mastering Case Writing with Dr. Rituparna Basu

Day 1 belonged to Professor (Dr.) Rituparna Basu, a globally respected academician known for her cases published by Harvard Business School.

Faculty members from Management, IT, Mathematics, Economics, and Commerce were divided into seven mixed groups — a smart move that encouraged interdisciplinary thinking right from the start.

Dr. Basu’s session focused on case writing methodology and case-based teaching pedagogy. In simple words, a “case” is a real-life story turned into a learning tool. Instead of dry lectures, students get to read, debate, and solve real situations.

Through her session, faculty members learned how case-based learning can:

The post-lunch session was the highlight — Dr. Basu distributed her own published Harvard case study among the groups. Each team analysed it, discussed key issues, proposed solutions, and presented their findings. Teachers literally stepped into the shoes of students, experiencing first-hand how powerful case-based learning truly is.

Day 2: Hands-on Learning with MCDM, AHP and DEMATEL

If Day 1 planted the seed, Day 2 watered it with deeper, research-driven knowledge.

The session was led jointly by Prof. Dr. Rohit Kr. Singh and Prof. Dr. Sachin Modgil, both from IMI Kolkata. The day kicked off with a discussion on the case study assigned the previous evening — a great way to reinforce learning before moving to advanced topics.

Then came the heart of the day — an introduction to powerful decision-making frameworks every modern researcher and educator should know:

These tools may sound technical, but the experts broke them down into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Faculty members learned how to:

Participants also explored Expert Choice software, a tool used widely in AHP-based research. The session also covered crucial research-side knowledge — how to choose quality journals, understand indexing systems like Scopus and Web of Science, and use journal ranking systems like ABDC.

By the end of the day, what felt complex in the morning had become practical and doable.

Day 3: Going Deeper with ISM and Supply Chain Risk Dynamics

Day 3 took the learning to an even more advanced level. Once again under the expert guidance of Dr. Rohit Kr. Singh and Dr. Sachin Modgil, participants were introduced to Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) — a powerful framework used to identify relationships between different factors and arrange them into a clear, hierarchical model.

The day’s main case revolved around supply chain risk analysis — a real, modern, and globally relevant topic. Faculty members explored how risks emerge from interconnected elements like:

Through structured group discussions, participants learned how to map these elements, identify driving and dependent factors, and visualize how disruption in one area affects the entire system.

The day ended on a beautiful, celebratory note — certificates were distributed to participants who successfully completed the offline sessions of the FDP. It was also announced that Day 4 and Day 5 would continue in online mode, ensuring smooth continuity of learning for everyone.

What This Programme Means for CIMAGE Students

Now, the most important question for our students reading this — how does any of this affect you?

Honestly, in a very big way. Here’s how:

  1. More interactive classrooms — Expect more discussion-driven sessions and fewer one-way lectures.
  2. Real-world examples — Lessons will feel directly connected to the actual world of business, technology, and society.
  3. Stronger problem-solving skills — Case-based learning trains your brain to think, not just memorize.
  4. Better placement readiness — Companies hire students who can analyse situations and make decisions. This is exactly what these methods build.
  5. Research-oriented teachers — Your professors will now bring research-grade tools and frameworks into your classroom.
  6. A globally aligned education — You will learn the same way students at top international institutions do.

In short, this FDP is not just a teacher’s workshop. It is a direct upgrade to your learning experience at CIMAGE.

Why Faculty Development Programmes Matter More Than Ever

Education has changed completely in the last few years. Students today have YouTube, AI tools, online courses, and unlimited information at their fingertips. So just reading from textbooks is not enough anymore.

Modern students need teachers who can:

This is exactly why Faculty Development Programmes matter so much. They keep educators sharp, updated, and aligned with global teaching standards. And institutions that invest in their faculty — like CIMAGE Patna — automatically deliver stronger outcomes for their students.

A Vision for Global Collaboration

By teaming up with ISDSI Global and IMI Kolkata, CIMAGE is doing something many regional colleges hesitate to attempt — bringing global academic standards directly to Patna.

This collaboration reflects a much bigger vision:

For a student studying at CIMAGE, this means access to the same kind of teaching philosophy you would expect at the country’s top management schools — right here in your own city.

A New Chapter for Higher Education in Bihar

The Faculty Development Programme at CIMAGE Patna 2026 has been more than just a five-day event. It has been a clear, confident statement — that CIMAGE is committed to redefining higher education in Bihar.

From Dr. Rituparna Basu’s game-changing session on case writing methodology, to the powerful hands-on workshops on MCDM, AHP, and DEMATEL, and finally the deep-dive into ISM and supply chain risk dynamics — every single day added something valuable to the journey of every participant.

Faculty members walked away with new skills, fresh ideas, and a stronger sense of purpose. Students will walk into more interactive, research-driven, and future-ready classrooms. And the institution as a whole takes a firm step forward in its mission of academic excellence.

CIMAGE is not just teaching the future — it is actively building it.
