Fun Meets Learning: How CIMAGE College Uses Management Games to Build Skills in Freshers
Patna, Bihar – The energy was electric. The smiles were contagious. And the lessons? Unforgettable. At CIMAGE College Patna, the first steps of a student’s academic journey were celebrated not with long lectures or formal introductions, but with laughter, teamwork, and impactful learning.
To ease the transition of newly admitted students from various courses—MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, B.Sc IT, and B.Com (P)—into campus life, the college organized a dynamic day-long program of Management Team Games and Communication Activities. And it wasn’t just about fun. It was about helping students discover themselves, build relationships, and learn the essential skills that would shape their professional futures.
Organized by Dr. Neeraj Poddar, Dean Academics, and Prof. Priyadarshini Jain, IQAC Coordinator, the program blended communication training, team building, and creative ex
Session 1: Communication Skills Through Fun Activities – Led by Dr. Neeraj Poddar
The day began with an electrifying session by Dr. Neeraj Poddar, who believes that English communication skills can be learned best when you’re not afraid to have a little fun!
Interactive Learning at its Best
Instead of typical lectures, Dr. Poddar introduced a series of quick, engaging games designed to push students out of their comfort zones. The objective? To encourage students to start thinking in English and speaking without hesitation—the two golden rules he emphasized for mastering communication.
These weren’t just games; they were tools to break barriers of self-doubt and hesitation. The energy in the room was infectious—every laugh, every attempt, every effort brought students closer to confidence.
Robot Instruction Activity – The Grand Finale
To conclude the session on a high note, Dr. Poddar brought in a truly innovative activity. He played the role of a “robot” who only understood English commands. One by one, students were invited to instruct the “robot” in English to complete a task.
This not only made everyone laugh but also pushed students to think in real-time, frame sentences correctly, and use functional English under pressure—a skill crucial for job interviews, presentations, and everyday workplace communication.
By the end of this session, it wasn’t just English that improved—it was confidence, clarity, and courage.
Session 2: Teamwork & Creativity with “Emoji Tales” – Led by Prof. Priyadarshini Jain
After a short break, students returned to a whole new experience—this time, focused on team collaboration and creative ex
Teamwork in Action
Prof. Priyadarshini Jain, known for her vibrant and innovative teaching style, took over the session with a high-energy team activity called “Emoji Tales: The Team Challenge.”
She divided the entire Bridge Batch into 18 teams, each made up of students from different courses. The challenge? Use a series of emojis to tell a compelling story—as a team. But there was a twist: every student had a specific role. Some worked on storyline ideas, some prepared visuals, others narrated or acted it out.
This game brought multiple layers of learning together:
· Team management
· Task delegation
· Creative thinking
· Verbal and non-verbal communication
Students laughed, debated, supported each other, and even surprised themselves with their creativity. From suspense thrillers to heartwarming tales and funny stories, each team had a unique take—and a valuable learning experience.
What Students Learned
This session was a perfect example of experiential learning. Students didn’t just learn about collaboration—they lived it.
They discovered:
· How to contribute meaningfully in a team
· The importance of listening and respecting others’ ideas
· How to work toward a common goal under time pressure
· That learning can be fun, interactive, and deeply impactful
Building Skills That Go Beyond Classrooms
What made these sessions special is that they catered to the diverse student base of CIMAGE—from management to IT to commerce. Regardless of their course, every student walked away with something valuable:
· MBA and BBA students learned the core of leadership and business communication
· BCA and MCA students sharpened their logical thinking and presentation skills
· B.Sc IT and B.Com students enhanced their team coordination and articulation
This initiative is a reflection of CIMAGE College’s commitment to holistic education—where learning doesn’t stop at textbooks but continues through real-world simulation and engaging environments.
