DHAROHAR — Durga Puja Classical Evening 2025 at CIMAGE College

DHAROHAR – Durga Puja Classical Evening 2025 at CIMAGE Patna was a cultural celebration filled with music, devotion, and heritage.

The event brought together students, faculty, and invited guests for an unforgettable night of classical music and Indian tradition.

The pride of the evening was the performance of Padma Shri Dr. Soma Ghosh, one of India’s most iconic classical vocalists.

A disciple of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan and belonging to the Banaras Gharana, Dr. Ghosh graced the stage with her soulful voice.

She performed ragas, thumri, dadra, kajri, chaiti, hori, and devotional bhajans, leaving the audience completely mesmerized.

The song “Mirzapur Kaine Gulzar, Hamri Atarariya Pe, Mohe Panghat Pe…” became the most loved highlight of the evening.

Adding pure magic to DHAROHAR, Zakir Bismillah Khan — a family member of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan — performed melodiously on the shehnai.

The ensemble of harmonium, tabla, octopad, synthesizer and dukkar created a perfect fusion of classical depth and modern appeal.

Director Dr. Neeraj Agrawal emphasized that DHAROHAR connects youth with Indian cultural heritage beyond academics.

The event was graced by Megha Agrawal (Director), Dr. Neeraj Poddar (Dean), Dr. (Prof.) Vijay Bahadur Singh (Co-Principal), faculty members, distinguished guests and students. Students shared that experiencing Dr. Soma Ghosh and Zakir Bismillah Khan live was a memorable and enriching moment in their college journey. DHAROHAR proved that CIMAGE is not just an academic institution — it is a guardian of culture, music, values, and holistic student development.
