Weekend one is done — and the grand finale on Sunday 9 August brings Aman Hora to the CIMAGE stage.

Patna, 27 July 2026 — For two days this weekend, the CIMAGE Campus in Patna stopped behaving like a college.

There were robots on the floor — built, coded and debugged by students who study here. There were VR headsets that did not sit idle for more than a few seconds at a stretch. There was a hackathon running live while a painting competition drew a crowd forty feet away, a career guidance desk fielding questions from parents, an open mic producing singers nobody knew the campus had, and finally a concert that turned the entire ground into one voice.

The CIMAGE Weekend Fest 2026 opened on Sunday 26 July. Weekend one is now history, and it settled the question the fest was built to answer: can a campus event be genuinely educational and genuinely fun on the same afternoon, in the same space, without either half turning into decoration?

It can. And it just did.

The Format: Three Words, Taken Literally

Most college fests quietly pick a side. Technical fests get whiteboards, judges and prize money, and the entertainment is an afterthought bolted onto the final evening. Cultural fests get lights, a stage and a headliner, and the “technical” component is a poster competition nobody remembers by Monday.

The CIMAGE Weekend Fest was designed against that instinct. Its three-word brief — Learn. Play. Celebrate. — was not branding. It was a floor plan, and the campus was laid out to honour all three at once rather than in sequence.

Two days, two deliberately different audiences

The decision that made it work was splitting the weekend into two distinct days rather than running one large open event.

Two audiences, two energies, one set of infrastructure. By Sunday evening, the crossover the format was built to create was visible everywhere. Visitors who came for the gaming zone ended up sitting through a data analytics session. Parents who came to size up the campus stayed for the concert.

The Robotics Floor Was the Centre of Gravity

If one zone defined weekend one, it was robotics.

The critical detail — and the one visitors kept double-checking — is that nothing on that floor was hired in for the occasion. Every machine was built on campus by CIMAGE’s own student robotics team, who spent the weeks before the fest coding, testing and fine-tuning each movement. When something needed adjusting mid-demo, the person who fixed it was the student who had written that code.

The questions came from every kind of visitor. Schoolchildren wanted to know how a robot “knows” where to go. Parents wanted to know what their children could realistically learn to build in three years. Engineering aspirants wanted to know which lab this came out of — and the answer to that one is where the fest stopped being a fest and became a credentials tour.

What sits behind the demonstration

So the robotics floor was never a weekend installation. It was a working, year-round lab that opened its doors to the public for two days — which is precisely why it held up under the crowd.

The “Learn” Half: Serious Content, Voluntary Audience

The quietly impressive thing about weekend one was how well the educational programming held attention while live music and free food competed for the same visitors. Nobody was marched into these sessions. They filled up anyway.

The “Play” and “Celebrate” Half: The Campus Never Slowed Down

The Concert: Aman Hora & INC Band Took Over the Campus

Then the live concert by Aman Hora & INC Band closed the weekend, and it drew the single largest gathering of the two days.

Powerful sound, an electrifying stage presence, and a full campus singing, dancing and refusing to sit down. The energy climbed through the set until the distinction between stage and audience stopped mattering.

₹100, and Why the Price Was the Point

Entry was priced at ₹100 — a deliberate decision, not a pricing accident.

The pass carried free game vouchers, food coupons and movie show access, which meant it effectively returned its own value before a visitor ever reached the main stage. The intent was straightforward: nobody should have to weigh whether the day was worth the money, and nobody should stay home because of it.

That choice shaped the crowd. What turned up on Sunday was not a filtered, ticket-price-selected audience. It was a genuine cross-section of Patna — school students, college students, families, and a steady stream of people who came simply because a friend told them to.

What Weekend One Actually Demonstrated

Strip away the lights and the food stalls, and weekend one made three points worth stating plainly.

The labs are real

Any campus can claim an AI and robotics capability in a brochure. It is considerably harder to put student-built machines on an open floor for two days and let strangers poke at them. CIMAGE did the second thing.

Students ran it

The robots, the hackathon, the performances, the competitions — weekend one was carried by student work, not by an events agency. That is the difference between a campus with activities and a campus with a culture.

The mixed format works

Serious technical and financial content held its own against a live band, competing for the same visitors on the same afternoon. That is the finding the organisers carry into the finale.

Next Up: The Grand Finale on 9 August

Weekend one was the opening act. The CIMAGE Weekend Fest 2026 now runs to its grand finale on Sunday 9 August, once again open to all.

Everything that worked in weekend one returns: the robotics floor, the AI and VR/AR zones, the live hackathon, the financial markets and data analytics sessions, career guidance, the English Communication Fest, skill games with prizes, live painting and sketching, open mic, the movie show and the food stalls.

And the act that closed weekend one is coming back for it.

The grand finale on Sunday 9 August closes the CIMAGE Weekend Fest 2026 with Aman Hora & INC Band back on the CIMAGE stage. If their set on 26 July is any indication of what this campus sounds like when it is full, 9 August is the date to keep clear.

Weekend one also taught the organisers one practical lesson worth passing on: the queues start early. Register in advance and arrive earlier than you think you need to — particularly if the robotics floor and the VR stations are what you are coming for.

Be there on Sunday 9 August
